Chlorination equipment Print E-mail

The use of chlorine as a water disinfection treatment is the method most widely used for its convenience and cost. The presence of a residue after the initial treatment makes it possible to have an indicator of proper treatment and a means of prolonging the effectiveness of the same. A simple monitoring system by means of a colorimetric determination allows the presence of free chlorine in the water to be easily determined.

In water with a certain saline concentration (presence of chlorides), it is possible to produce chlorine gas by electrolysis of the water, which recombines with the water to form hypochlorous acid, an oxidizing agent that disinfects the water.

This method is highly recommended in domestic and public swimming pools, and in brackish waters. An appropriate production and monitoring facility allows highly effective disinfection of all types of microorganism and virus, and it resolves the problem of employing chlorinated compounds of chemical origin.

A saline chlorination installation by Ecohidro, has the following elements:
  • Low speed filtering by means of sand bed with counter-flushing system.
  • Current generator rectifier, the essence of the production is obtained by making direct current flow between two Titanium metal electrodes.
  • A controller alternates the polarity between the two electrodes to avoid salt scale appearing and supervises proper operation.
  • The entire unit is built in a compact panel. Dosage pump correction of the pH. ORP and pH controller, automatic gear that manages the process as a whole, operating hours, doses, alarms, etc.
